Championing Allyship and Representation: Celebrating Tony’s Role at the IWTTF Awards
There are moments in business that make you pause, reflect, and feel an overwhelming sense of pride-not just for what you do, but for the people you do it with. Last week brought one of those moments for me at Antella Travel Recruitment, as I watched my business partner, best friend, and husband, Tony Yerasimou, step into the spotlight as a judge (and proud Male Ally) for the upcoming IWTTF Awards by Women In Travel CIC. Tony has always been my greatest champion, cheering me on through every high and low. His unwavering support isn’t just reserved for me-it extends to every woman he works with, encouraging us to recognise and embrace our own brilliance, even on days when we might doubt ourselves. True allyship is about more than words; it’s about action, presence, and lifting others up. Tony embodies this, not just at home, but in every corner of our business.

What a Week at Antella Travel Recruitment HQ!
Last week was one of those whirlwind moments that remind me just how vibrant and rewarding the travel and tourism industry can be. The energy at Antella HQ was off the charts – and for good reason!. The week kicked off with a personal milestone I’m still buzzing about: I was invited to join the Board of Directors at the Association of Women Travel Executives (AWTE) for 2025. It’s an honour to be part of an organisation that champions women’s voices and professional development in travel, tourism, and hospitality. When I look at the board I’ll be joining – with powerhouse women like Michelle Laverick (Chair), Debbie O’Neill (Vice Chair and Development Director), Kelly Davies (Secretary), Jane Pinfold and Yvonne Kinder (Events Directors), and so many more – I feel both inspired and grateful.

Embracing Hybrid and Remote Work in Travel and Tourism: Attracting Skilled Talent
As I reflect on the evolving landscape of the travel and tourism industry, one thing is clear: embracing hybrid and remote work models is no longer a trend but a necessity. This shift not only enhances flexibility and productivity but also ensures that experienced professionals can hit the ground running with minimal training. In my years as a recruitment specialist, I've seen firsthand how offering flexible work arrangements can be a game-changer in attracting and retaining top talent. The pandemic has accelerated the adoption of hybrid and remote work across industries, including travel and tourism. This trend is driven by changing work preferences and technological advancements, allowing for seamless communication and collaboration regardless of location. In the hospitality sector, staff are increasingly attracted to jobs that offer hybrid working arrangements, providing a better work-life balance and opportunities for personal growth.
